Award winning film director, Kunle Afolayan was recently featured on the CNN program, Marketplace Africa. In a feature, titled, Is Nollywood Embracing Quality?, the program took a look at Nollywood, and the emerging crop of high quality movies, being produced by some filmmakers.
Speaking on the program, Kunle Afolayan said people now realize that it is possible to make films with better production value and good stories, and still make more money than by churning out low quality films every time. The filmmaker mentioned poor distribution and high taxation as some of the problems confronting the industry.
