The number of movies in which star actress Genevieve Nnaji has been appearing in, has reduced considerably in the last two years. In 2011, one of her older movies, Sacred Lies, was released. Also in 2011, the movie, Mirror Boy, in which she starred, was released in the UK and in Nigeria.
In 2012, Genevieve Nnaji, will be seen in two movies – Weekend Getaway, and Doctor Bello. Weekend Getaway is a movie produced by the duo of Emem Isong and Ini Edo. It also features Ramsey Nouah, Ini Edo, and Monalisa Chinda. Weekend Getaway was shot in 2011, and it will be released later this year.
Doctor Bello, the second film featuring Genevieve Nnaji, which will be released this year, also features Isaiah Washington, Vivica Fox, Stephanie Linus (nee Okereke), Jide Kosoko, and Olumide Bakare. The movie centers around a search for a cancer cure by a brilliant oncologist, in the Sky Mountains of Africa. Doctor Bello will be released in the summer of 2012, possibly in October .
Genevieve Nnaji, also featured in the film adaptation of the book, Half of a Yellow Sun, which was shot this year in Calabar. Half of a Yellow Sun also features Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anika Noni Rose, and Thandie Newton. Half of a Yellow Sun will be released in 2013.
