Ruke Amata’s ‘The Past Came Calling’ Opens July 6

The Past Came Calling, a film by Ruke Amata, will open in cinemas across Nigeria on Friday, July 6. The film was earlier scheduled to be released on June 15, but the release date was moved forward. The Past Came Calling features Marie Kumba- Gomez, Guy Jolliffe, Chioma Akpotha, and John Dumelo.

The Story
The movie is about a young medical student, Susan (Marie Kumba Gomez) who comes to the UK to study with her sister, Maggie (Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha). Never, in her wildest dreams, did she believe she could ever fall in love with a white man, until she is meets Dermot, a dashing young man.

They begin a sizzling romantic relationship, until events of the past came calling. Can they withstand the turbulence of deep-seated anger caused by fake dealings and scams from past? Will their romance withstand the happenings and resultant prejudices of the past?
