The Story
Inalé is a film adaptation of a folk tale from Otukpo (Nigeria). The story centres on the life of the Princess of Otukpo, Inalé (Caroline Chikezie), who found happiness and true love in the heart of Ode (Hakeem Kae Kazim). Tradition permits all eligible men of Otukpo to compete for the hand of the princess, in a wrestling tournament – and Ode is determined to win the tournament.
Ode conquers competitors of all shapes and sizes in the tournament. As he is about to claim his victory and the heart of his true love, a masked stranger emerges, asking for a chance to wrestle him. The intrusion of the stranger sets in motion events, which no one in the land of Otukpo could have foreseen. With her love for Ode and her kingdom put to the test, Inalé’s adventure begins.
