Star actress, Funke Oloyede (nee Akindele) has been named as an Olympic Torch bearer. She will be one of the torch bearers who will carry the Olympic Torch during the Coventry leg of the Olympic Torch relay on July 1. Also named as Olympic Torch bearers were Kanu Nwankwo, Banky W, and Yaw of Wazobia FM.
The Olympic Torch is ignited several months before the opening ceremony at Olympia, Greece. It is carried by a relay system involving several runners to the final venue.
