Today (June 12) is the birthday of popular Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar. She is from Kogi State (Nigeria). She attended Bayero University, Kano, where she studied Sociology. She got her first role in a Nollywood movie in 2001. In 2011, she won the award for Best Actress, at the Afro Hollywood Awards. Some of the movies, which she has to her credit are Slip of Fate, Tears of a Child, Secret Shadows, Gangster Paradise, and Area Mama.
