It was a night of triumph for star actress, Rita Dominic at the AMAA Awards, which took place at the New Expo Hall of Eko Hotels & Suites on Sunday (April 22, 2012). The actress saw off strong competition from across the continent to win the coveted AMAA award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
She won the award for her role in the movie Shattered. Nominated in the same category were Nse Ikpe-Etim, Yvonne Okoro, Ama K. Abebrese, Uche Jombo, Millicent Makheido, and Kudzai-Sevenzo Nyarai. Veteran actress, Kate Henshaw accompanied Rita Dominic to the stage, when it was time for her to receive her award. In her acceptance speech, she dedicated the award to her fans social media networks such as Twitter and Facebook.
