BON Awards 2011: Winners

The Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards took place on Friday (November 11, 2011) at the Lagoon Restaurant, Victoria Island (Lagos, Nigeria). It was attended by several top Nollywood stars. The BON Awards, has been held annually since 2009, and it is organised by Seun Oloketuyi, publisher of the Best of Nollywood magazine. This year’s awards were dominated by the movie, Two Brides and a Baby, which received 12 nominations, and 5 awards. The movie, Mr. and Mrs, also put in a good showing, receiving 3 awards, including the Best Actor and Best Actress awards. Following is a list of some of the winners.

  1. Best Actor (English): Joseph Benjamin (Mr. & Mrs.)
  2. Best Actress (English): Nse Ikpe-Etim (Mr. & Mrs.)
  3. Best Actor (Yoruba): Muyiwa Ademola (Iyo Aye)
  4. Best Actress (Yoruba): Fathia Balogun (Ajaa Meji)
  5. Best Supporting Actor (English): Gabriel Afolayan (Ghetto Dreamz)
  6. Best Supporting Actress (English): Susan Peters (Bursting Out)
  7. Best Supporting Actor (Yoruba): Sunkanmi Omobolanle (Eti Keta)
  8. Best Supporting Actress (Yoruba): Ronke Odusanya (Fari Kola)
  9. Best Crossover Artiste: Eniola Badmus (Blackberry Babes)
  10. Most Promising Act (Male): Seun Akindele
  11. Most Promising Act (Female): Bidemi Kosoko
  12. Revelation of the Year (Male): Deji Akinosho (Ikudoro)
  13. Revelation of the Year (Female): Keira Hewatch (Two Brides and a Baby)
  14. Fresh and Scandal-Free Actress: Queen Nwokoye
  15. Child Actor of the Year: Nicole Ndigwe (Damage)
  16. Director of the Year: Teco Benson (Two Brides and a Baby)
  17. Lifetime Achievement Award: Sola Fajobi
  18. Movie of the Year: Two Brides and a Baby
  19. Comedy Movie of the Year: Jelili
  20. Best Movie With Message for Societal Change: Damage
  21. Best Movie from a Nigerian in the Diaspora: The Mirror Boy (Obi Emenloye)
  22. Screenplay of the Year: Blessing Effiom Egbe (Two Brides & a Baby)
  23. Cinematography of the Year: Eefa
  24. Movie With the Best Sound: Two Brides and a Baby
  25. Best Editor: Mr. & Mrs.
  26. Soundtrack of the Year: Inale
  27. Best Use of Costume: A Private Storm
  28. Best Kiss in a Nigerian Movie: Genevieve Nnaji and Majid (Bursting Loose)
  29. Best TV Presenter: Efe Tommy Adabaku
  30. Best Radio Presenter: Matse Uwase
  31. Best Print Media Journalist: Victor Akande (The Nation)
  32. Best Online Site: www.nollywooduncut.com
  33. Best TV Programme: Village Square
